If you are waiting for WASSCE 2026 results, this guide shows you exactly what to do, how much it costs now, and what to do if the portal says, “results not found”.
When Will WASSCE 2026 Results Be Released? WAEC Ghana usually releases WASSCE for School Candidates between late November and early December. For 2026, expect results around first week of December 2026.Don’t trust random dates on TikTok. Only trust www.waecdirect.org
What You Need Before You Check
You need the following details to check your result:
- WASSCE Results Checker Card, now GH₵25. You can buy with MTN MoMo, no need to go to internet cafe.
- Your Index Number: Example 0301234567
- Examination Year: 2026
- Small data, the site works even on 2G.
How to Buy WASSCE Results Checker with MTN MoMo [2026 Update]
This is the fastest way now.
- Dial *170# on MTN
- Select MoMo Pay & Pay Bill
- Select General Payment
- Enter Payment Code: 2023 (this is WAEC code, still same for 2026)
- Select WAEC Results Checker
- Enter quantity — 1
- Confirm payment GH₵25.
- You will get SMS instantly with your Checker Serial and PIN. Screenshot it.
If you are on Telecel or AirtelTigo, you can also buy from resultschecker.waecgh.org with MoMo. Don’t buy from someone on WhatsApp selling for GH₵50. It’s a scam.
How to Check Your Results Online — Step by Step
- Go to https://ghana.waecdirect.org. This is the only correct site.
- Enter your Index Number, check it well. One wrong digit and it will show “invalid”.
- Select Examination Type: WASSCE (School), If you wrote Nov/Dec, select WASSCE (Private).
- Select Examination Year: 2026
- Enter Serial Number and PIN from your MoMo SMS.
- Enter the verification code you see.
- Click Submit.
Your results will show. Take screenshot, then click print. Save PDF on your phone.
What If It Says “Results Not Available” or “Invalid”?
This happened to my cousin last year. Three reasons:
- You entered Private instead of School, change it.
- WAEC has not released yet for your school, wait 24 hours and try again.
- Your PIN has been used 3 times. Each checker allows only 3 checks.
- If you check 4 times, you need new card.
Important Advice After Checking
If you got D7 or E8 in Math or English, you can still go to university. Many schools accept D7 for non-core programmes, or you can rewrite Nov/Dec 2027. Don’t post your full results slip with index number on Facebook. Scammers use it. Start applying to any tertiary institutions of your choice in consultation with parents, guider or career coach.
